The Netherlands is known for many things: wooden shoes, windmills, engineering, cheese, etc etc. Another thing it’s known for is the abundance of beautiful flowers that grow here, tulips to be specific. In the city of Lisse resides the world’s largest flower park, Keukenhof. Over 7 million flower bulbs are planted each year, and the park opens its doors for two months in the spring where visitors from all over the world come to enjoy the beauty. On April 27th I was able to see Keukenhof for myself – what an incredibly lovely sight it was. Here are my favorite moments captured as I strolled through the park, although no photo could truly do it justice.
“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves, and we travel, next, to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.” -Pico Iyer
